
iSUP Smart Workshop
A 6 hour workshop to ensure you are prepared and have planned your next SUP adventure.
This workshop is endorsed by the RNLI and Adventure Smart UK, both organisations promote safety whilst maintaining a sense of fun and adventure.
Whether you SUP alone or as part of a group, this is one day workshop aimed at all levels of Paddle boarders from new to the sport of SUP through to experienced SUPers keen to learn more about journey planning & safety management, the iSUP Smart workshop will give you knowledge & the skill-set to stay safe on the water, be confident, equipped & prepared for your next SUP adventure.
This 6-hour Workshop is a theory & practical
What is covered in the iSUP Smart Workshop
- Equipment: boards, paddles, clothing, safety kit, buoyancy aids, leashes.
- Planning: weather, seasons, venues, navigation, a float plan, health, tides, swell, launching, recovery, waves.
- Rescue skills: self-rescue, team rescue, plan, broken kit, first aid, paddle tips.
- Environmental: seasonal considerations, leave no trace, biosecurity.
- Miscellaneous: equipment, travel, hiring, transport.
- Certification.
WSA SUP Safety and Rescue
WSA regards safety and rescue skills as essential disciplines that all SUP instructors must understand and be able to demonstrate competency in rescue techniques. This one day course is designed to teach the fundamental rescue skills and safety knowledge for aspiring SUP instructors.
This course is the prerequisite to the WSA Foundation SUP instructor.

WSA Foundation SUP Instructor Training
This is the first step to working as a Stand Up Paddle instructor. This two-day course will introduce the novice instructor to teaching and communication skills, lesson planning, feedback and analysis skills, and group and individual client management. If you are not sure if you are at standard then please contact us to discuss.
This course is designed to be combined with a WSA SUP Safety and Rescue training course (delivered the day before). The course is both dry and wet in content and is a practical and theoretical course.

In order to register for the courses you will need to be a member of Water Skills Academy.
Membership is £60 P/A in addition to the course fee of £220.
